It's been a manic few months and this is the first chance that I
have had to continue with my blogging whilst studying and performing in Half a
Sixpence!
Completing Module 3 has coincided with the show that I am
currently performing in, Half a Sixpence transferring, from Chichester to the
Noel Coward Theatre in Leicester Square. I have been very busy performing,
taking on understudy rehearsals and completing my Critical Reflection
and Professional Artefact. I have even taken up residence at the theatre using
my dressing room counter and the Royal Box as my study areas!
One of the key tools used to help with time management has
been creating a Gantt Chart whereby I structured this module by planning deadlines
and targets give each week. Adhering to these goals enabled me to keep a track
of my work and try to complete everything to the best of my ability. However,
working within a production has proved challenging as performances took place
over Christmas and understudy rehearsals have commenced in between shows.
Organisation has been the key factor in juggling work and study
My Artefact
Commencing my Professional Artefact I created a brainstorm
map displaying ideas for ways that I could present my findings to reflect The
Wellbeing of a Performer in the 21st Century, Map displayed below:
My
Professional Artefact has been created to reflect my progression during my BAPP
studies, professional inquiry and incorporate segments from the show Half a
Sixpence, which I am currently performing in. My Artefact reflects both my
performance and academic development. I have created an audio scrapbook that
integrates songs, storylines and personal experiences from within the show.
These snapshots have been used as metaphors correlating my ongoing work within
the show and my academic learning whilst conducting my professional inquiry
(The Wellbeing of a Performer in the 21st Century).
It is a huge relief and sense if achievement to have completed
parts 1 & 2 of module three with my oral presentation pending I am now in
the process of completing my Power Point presentation and meeting my tutors in
a few weeks time.
Thanks Bethany
